Congratulations on a job well done! You've completed your quest in seeing how critical a role genre plays in communicating.
You've also been forced to think and to learn a little bit more about yourself and the masks that you wear.
I hope that as you've worked hard you have realized two important things. The first is that writing and storytelling
is more difficult than we first think. It takes planning and lots of revision to be able to truly show people the story
we have in our imaginations- but- those stories are worth the effort to both and tell and hear. We learn from them and
hopefully are able to make our own lives better.
Secondly, I hope that you have realized that masks are not always a good thing, as Andy in the novel exemplifies.
Masks only hide the deeper and at times troubling issues we all face. The only true way to deal with those feelings
is not by hiding but by uncovering so we can work through them with those who support us.
